Fierce at Heart – Chapter One
Fierce at Heart (Kincaids of Pine Harbour book #2) comes out on January 26, 2021. Here is an advance look at the first chapter. Please note that minor editorial revisions may happen before publication. Chapter One Something about the way the man strode through the crowded mezzanine caught Isla Petersen’s attention. She had just sold another box of bake sale treats to a customer when the shape of him caught her eye, and for a moment she panicked. But when she swallowed back that fear and took a good look, she knew it wasn’t her former husband she had spotted…

Love in a Small Town has been revised and expanded!
I wrote the first edition of Love in a Small Town in the summer of 2014. I had been laid off from my job, and this series, Pine Harbour, was my first attempt at writing something as a full-time romance author. My first series designed to be commercial, a balance between what my natural storytelling is and what resonates with the market. Between then and now, I have written eight more books in this world (seven more in this series, and the first book in a spin-off series, The Kincaids of Pine Harbour). In 2015, I started working with a…

This Book is Too Hot For You To See (or so says Amazon)
Zoe Note from the future: This blog post was written a few years ago, and the screenshots of my emails were accidentally deleted in a website move. If you happen across this blog post and are interested in those email exchanges, feel free to email me at zoeyorkwrites AT gmail DOT com. This week, two of my SEALs Undone books are on sale. Fall Deep is free, and Fall Fast is 99 cents. This is a series that has been a fan favourite since I started it, and neither of these books have been discounted to these prices before, so I…

What Women Can Do
All this month, women are writing about the magic of romance as part of the Read a Romance Month. My friend Shari Slade tagged me to write a blog post, and I immediately knew what my topic would be: the amazing things women can do. Individually. Collectively. Casually and with great planning. This time last year I had a single book out and was furiously editing a prequel novella. I’d already experienced the loveliness of the romance community, through the encouragement of Romance Divas and the early support of bloggers like Nadine from Hook Me Up Book Blog and Kim from Read Your Writes, among…

New series (a Wardham spin-off!)
I’m so excited to share the news about my next series! This is going to be a spin-off of the Wardham series and I’ll continue to write in both towns–we’ll even see residents from one visit the other at some point! A few hours north of Wardham, Pine Harbour sits on the eastern shore of Lake Huron. Cottage country meets northern living and for generations, the Foster family has been a rock in the community. All the Foster men serve in the local Army reserve unit and the youngest adult generation is no exception. Meet the Foster boys: Dean, Jake, Matt and Sean. A cop,…

Excerpt #1: What Once Was Perfect
Laney inched her car forward. She’d made it to Detroit without hitting much traffic, but there was always a bit of a line at the border. Bright lights flooded the concrete area around the toll booths, obscuring the rise of the Ambassador Bridge against the early dawn sky. She counted the coins she needed again, knowing she had the right amount but indulging her obsessive nature because no one was there to make fun of her. As the truck in front of her eased past the toll booth onto the bridge, she rolled down her window. This routine was familiar,…
